Kevin Christiana, hailing from Fairfield, New Jersey, is a first generation Italian-American and a graduate of Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. His family originated from Ciminna, Sicily, and is composed of many tailors and seamstresses. Inspired by Alexander McQueen and Jean-Paul Gaultier, he likes cool vintage boots for a fashion must. He is also inspired by his travels and his daily living in New York City. Christiana learned how to sew through his Aunt Ida Lasusa, and since then has garnered many experiences from school and work. He later worked for his cousin, Susana Monaco for six years and consequently worked on his own line. Christiana is currently the head designer and partner of labels Kevin Christiana and KJeans.
Kevin Christiana became known for being on season 4 of Bravo’s reality series, Project Runway. Despite being praised consistently by the judges earlier on, he was eliminated in the seventh episode. Since his departure, he was featured on Rachael Ray’s show and helped her with her own style. He has also launched a number of collections, particularly for Fall 2009.
