Born on February 1992, Kaya Scodelario is a British actress best known for her role as Effy Stonem in the comedic teen drama Skins. She is the only original cast member to play a full part in the third series of Skins. Meanwhile, she also appears in a movie called Moon. According to her filming the movie was “a massive learning experience and showed [her] how different film is to TV.” She also worked for Models 1: Europe’s Leading Model Agency, in an effort to break into the modeling scene, as she wants to establish herself as a model.
Scodelario’s character Effy on Skins is the sister of Tony. She was known as a party girl but her character was mostly unexplored. Later on, it was revealed that Effy has a caring side when she began aiding Tony in his recovery from his accident. She is a major character in the show’s third and fourth installments. The series is a BAFTA Award-winning British dramedy which follows the lives of a group of teenagers living in Bristol, as they depict the everyday lives of ordinary adolescents.
After two seasons of Skins, the series endured an overhaul at the end of 2007. Feeling that most of the characters had run their course, every character was written out of the series except for Effy. This was a significant change because it meant that Kaya Scodelario would be the most recognizable face for season three.
As Kaya Scodelario waited for the new season of Skins to begin, she has taken advantage of her recent clout to seek out additional career opportunities. She joined the elite agency Models 1 and soon had a photo-op as the cover model for SUPERSUPER Magazine.
