Actress Julia Jones was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 23, 1981. At four years old, she studied at The Boston Ballet School. Soon she discovered a passion for acting, and began to work in commercials. When she was eight, she starred in several productions at a local theatre.
Jones pursued her education at the historic Boston Latin School and later graduated from Columbia University with a degree in English. She eventually began modeling for catalogs, including those for Levis, The Gap, Esprit, and L'Oreal.
Soon, Julia Jones found her way to film and television. She was even on Chuck Wicks' music video for Hold That Thought.
In 2003, the star was cast as Gigi on The Look. This was followed by a role on Black Cloud as Sammi. She was recognized for her efforts there, winning a Best Actress award from the First Americans in the Arts Awards (FAITA).
Three years later, she returned to the screen by playing Gina on The Reckoning. She got her break in 2008, playing Cherokee Kisum on Larry Bishop's Hell Ride. This premiere at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival before being released straight-to-DVD worldwide.
One notable television role that Julia Jones had was as Dr. Kaya Montoya on ER. Her next project became Jonah Hex in 2010, and later took on the part of Leah Clearwater on the third installment of the Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
Studied at The Boston Ballet School from the age of 4.
