Joshua Regnall Stewart was born February 6, 1977 in Diana, West Virginia. He attended West Virginia Wesleyan College but didn't finish his schooling there. He transferred to West Virginia University where he graduated with a degree in marketing. He started his acting career by performing in local productions at the Landmark Theater located in Sutton, West Virginia. He eventually moved to New York City and studied at the T. Schreiber Studios. Josh Stewart was a member of the 13th Street Repertory Theater and was part of the plays Light Bulb and Beacon, where he acted alongside Brooke Shields and Robert Forster.
Josh Stewart 's big break was when he played Officer Brendan Finney on the final season of NBC's drama series Third Watch. He played the roles of Bill Jenkins on Then Came Jones, Sean Cleary on
CSI : Crime Scene Investigation, Detective William LaMontagne Jr. on
Criminal Minds and also did a cameo role in one episode of
Dawson's Creek .
His big screen appearances were on films Lenexa, 1 Mile, Jekyll, The Death and Life of Bobby Z, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, She Lived, The I Scream Man and The Midnight Man.
In 2004, he was seen on a TV commercial for Levi's jeans.
Outside show business, Stewart is a competitive snowboarder and boxer. He also enjoys hunting with his father during his free time.
