Biography

Jordan Lynne Pruitt was born May 19, 1991, in Loganville, Georgia. Jordan grew up in a family that valued music, as her father was a song leader in their church. At the young age of four, Jordan began landing gigs to sing in public at amusement parks and theatres around the South. When she got a bit older, Pruitt cut a demo in Nashville that landed her a recording deal with Hollywood Records.

Pruitt released her debut album, No Ordinary Girl, in 2007, and co-wrote a majority of the songs on the record. The album went to number 62 on the Billboard 200 and sold 14,000 copies in its first week of release. Pruitt’s first single from the album, “Outside Looking In,” gained publicity when it was used in the Disney Channel Original Movie Read It and Weep. Pruitt also recorded a cover of the classic Sister Sledge track, “We Are Family, which was featured in the 2006 film Air Buddies, and her next single, "Jump to the Rhythm," was featured in the Disney Channel film Jump In!

Jordan’s second album, Permission to Fly, was released in 2008. "One Love" was the first single off the album.

Pruitt has toured with the Radio Disney Incubator tour and the Tour of Gymnastics Superstars. Jordan has been a special guest performer on The Cheetah Girls' The Party's Just Begun Tour, and has been the opening act for High School Musical: The Concert.
