While actor Jon Michael Hill is best known for his work in theatre, he’s already had a number of television credits under his belt. On stage, he became famous for his performance on Superior Donuts, which earned him a Tony nomination. He was also noted for being one of the youngest members of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company ensemble.
A graduate of the University of Illinois, Hill soon made his way to Broadway. He appeared in productions of King Lear, Brecht on Brecht, Six Degrees of Separation and A Flea in Her Ear. In 2007, he was cast in the short film The Last Stain, where he portrayed one of the lead characters.
Hill finally entered the TV circuit as he was cast on the ABC police drama Detroit 1-8-7. He was given the part of Det. Damon Washington, the new partner of protagonist Louis Fitch (Michael Imperioli). The series takes a look at the lives and relationships behind Detroit’s Homicide Unit, as they navigate the streets and take out criminals. Joining Hill and Imperioli on the series are James McDaniel, Shaun Majumder, Aisha Hinds, Natalie Martinez, D.J. Cotrona and Erin Cummings.
