Jojo Simmons, born Joseph Simmons, Jr., is the son of hip-hop guru and co-founder of Run-DMC, Joseph Simmons. He is the third among three children of Vanessa and Joseph, and older step brother to Diggy and Russy, the children of the second wife of Joseph. When the reality series Run’s House began, he was just 17 years old and a senior in high school. He struggled to deal with issues like where to go to college and what courses to take. He also faced academic responsibilities while fighting social pressures and getting along with his parents.
Since the series ended in 2009, Jojo graduated from Northern Highlands Regional High School. Later that year, he was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, in addition to resisting arrest. He also pursued a music career as part of Team Blackout.
