John Ratzenberger Biography:
Actor John Deszo Ratzenberger was born on April 6, 1947 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He is remembered most for his portrayal of mailman Clifford C. “Cliff” Clavin in the comedy series Cheers. He has worked in numerous plays and television shows, and movies where he can be seen include Firefox, A Bridge Too Far, Superman: The Movie, Superman II, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Gandhi and House II: The Second Story. Ratzenberger has also lent his voice to many animated films from Pixar, such as Toy Story, Monster’s Inc., The Incredibles and Finding Nemo. Although he is very thankful for having been a part of the Cheers ensemble, he has expressed his disapproval for the show’s spin-off, Frasier, as it veered away from the “working-class life” theme. His return to television came through guest appearances on the shows 8 Simple Rules, That 70’s Show and Yakkity-Yak. In 2003, he was offered his own show, aptly named John Ratzenberger’s Made in America, on the Travel Channel.
His other current project is on the fourth season of the reality series, Dancing with the Stars. He has been partnered with professional ballroom dancer, Edyta Sliwinska
