John Caparulo began his stand-up career in Cleveland, and later worked as a doorman at the prestigious Comedy Store in Los Angeles. His first major break came in 2002, when he appeared in that year's Just For Laugh Festival in Montreal.
Caparulo later appeared in several comedy tours, including the Blue Collar Comedy Tour and Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Tour. He also appeared in several late night talk shows, including a regular panellist stint on E!'s Chelsea Lately.
Caparulo's first regular television work was in the Disney Channel animated series Fish Hooks. He currently stars in the ABC comedy Work It.
