John Anderson

A native of Green Bay Wisconsin, John Anderson started out as a sports photographer and reporter at Tulsa’s KTUL-TV in 1988 for two years. He then became a sports reporter and a weekend sports anchor at KOTV still in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He became a regular sports anchor up until 1999, then finally moving to sports broadcasting giant ESPN as an ESPNEWS anchor and, in fact, now anchors SportsCenter, ESPN’s flagship sports news program. Recently, sports Center earned Emmy Awards in the daily studio show category.

As a sports journalist, Anderson has won several awards for his craft. In 1994 and 1995, he won the Outstanding Sports feature Reporting Award, presented by the Oklahoma Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. In 1997, he received the Associated Press Television Award in Arizona for Outstanding Performance in Broadcast Journalism.

John Anderson is a host in the ABC reality series Wipeout. The show features fun, strong-willed, and outgoing people who battle it out in a series of grueling games for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to win $50,000.
