A graduate of the University of California–Los Angeles’ School of Theater, Film and Television in 2004, American actor Jocko Sims got his start in local theater before appearing on television. He’s spent most of his career playing guest roles in numerous television shows, including Cold Case, The Shield, Yes, Dear, NYPD Blue, CSI and Private Practice.
Sims also has starred in several notable movies. In 2005, after making his debut in the acclaimed student film Hope’s Choice a year before, he appeared in the war film Jarhead. The following year, he played payola-accepting disc jockey Elvis Kelly in the film adaptation of the acclaimed musical Dreamgirls. In 2008, he snagged his first regular television role, appearing in the ensemble drama Crash. The television remake of the Oscar-winning film saw him play Anthony Adams, the street-smart driver for record producer Ben Cendars (Dennis Hopper) who tries to figure out a way to get ahead in life without resorting to violence—but understands that nothing is sacred.
