24-year-old Joanna Pacitti is a former contestant of the eighth season of American Idol. She joined the show through auditions held in Louisville, but attracted some controversy as she had a record deal before—contributing songs to movie soundtracks and even having Britney Spears cover one of her works.
Despite controversially forgetting the lyrics to some of her songs during Hollywood Week, she was nevertheless sent to the Top 36. Shortly, however, Idol producers disqualified her, after discovering that she was friends with two of the show's producers; they moved to avoid the appearance of impropreity.
