Biography
Actor Jimmi Simpson was born on November 21, 1975 in Hackettstown, New Jersey. A graduate of Bloomsburg University, he began acting on stage, appearing in four seasons of the Williamstown Theatre Festival. He made his film debut in the 2000 release Loser, and went on to play roles in other films like D.E.B.S., Herbie: Fully Loaded and Zodiac. He’s also had extensive television credits, including recurring roles in 24, My Name is Earl and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, a character on The Late Show with David Letterman, and guest roles in Psych, House and Eleventh Hour.
Simpson also had a successful run on Broadway, making his debut as the title role in a 2007 production of Aaron Sorkin’s The Farnsworth Invention; the role earned him a Theatre World Award. He is set to star in the films Date Night and The Invention of Lying, and the Fox television special Virtuality.
