Jim Lynch Biography:
Jim Lynch, who was born on January 7, 1942 in Scottsburf, Nebraska, joined the US Marine Corp after his high school graduation and served four years, He traveled extensively, including time at the Cuban Blockade in 1962. Upon his return, he later sold real estate for some time and eventually joined the Aurora Fire Department in 1972. Having received many promotions and accolades while with the fire department, Lynch eventually attained the rank of captain. During his time as a fireman, Lynch was able to acquire an Associate Arts degree from Red Rocks College in Lakewood, Colorado. In 2002, with 30 years of service, Lynch chose to retire and travel. 2 years later, Lynch climbed Mt. Huena in Peru. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Carol, with whom he has two children, Jeff and Cynthia.
As a contestant on Survivor: Guatemala, the decorated firefighter did not get very far in the competition, as he was the first voted off by his fellow Nakum tribe members. After he tore a muscle in his arm during the first challenge, the others could not let him stay in the game, despite his great leadership skills.
