From Long Island, New York comes Jillian Lewis, a graduate of Parsons School of Design. Inspired by designers such as Nicolas Ghesquiere for Balanciaga and Azzedine Alaia, she likes sweater dresses worn with opaque colored tights. Lewis has worked as a concept designer and illustrator at Rugby by Ralph Lauren and as a designer at Searle. She is currently working on her own label while working as a designer and consultant for various fashion companies. A true artist, she is also inspired by military uniforms, armor, ballet, and the concept of incorporating technology in fashion. She believes that her art is a reflection of the things around her, and aims to use her passion to create a fashion empire of her own.
Jillian Lewis was one of 15 contestants to compete in the fourth season of Bravo’s fashion reality series, Project Runway. She spent the first part of the season in the middle of the pack, never placing at the top or the bottom. She won the 4th challenge, Trendsetter, and got started on a hot streak. She placed in the top group in 5 of the next 7 challenges. Jillian made it to the final runway show but was eliminated right after, placing third this season. Since the show ended, she has continued her career in fashion and has launched several collections. She has created a ready-to-wear line for Spring 2010, and even a series of dancewear.
