This Canadian actress was born in Quebec in 1971, to a writer and an engineer.

In 1995, Jessalyn Gilsig moved to New York City where she began appearing in several off-Broadway plays. Although she had roles in several Canadian productions in the late 1980s/early 1990s, her television career began during the late 1990s when she guest-starred in several television series, including Viper and Seven Days. In 1998, she was seen as Lucy in the movie The Horse Whisperer. She also became known for lending her voice to the character Kayley in the animated film Quest for Camelot.
