Jerri Manthey Biography:
Actress Jerri Manthey was born on September 5, 1970 in Stuttgart, Germany. Her father, a United States Army officer, was stationed in Germany for several years, prompting Manthey to pursue her secondary and tertiary education in the same country. Before she competed in the reality series, Survivor: The Australian Outback, Manthey was preoccupied with launching her acting career, but was not hugely successful. However, her appearance on the televised competition proved much more beneficial, and soon after she was eliminated, Manthey landed a role in the popular soap, The Young and the Restless
. Her other television projects include Blind Date, The Surreal Life and The Joe Schmo. For the big screen, Manthey can be seen in the 2000 film The Limited and the 2002 film Destiny.
Manthey was not among the viewing public’s favorite contestants on Survivor: The Australian Outback. In fact, she was often seen as the main antagonist, constantly getting into fights with her fellow tribe members. Her aggressive behavior caused her elimination on Day 27.
Manthey came back for another attempt on the show’s special season, Survivor: All-Stars, this time changing her attitude and becoming less confrontational. Nevertheless, she was still voted off the Pearl Islands after only 24 days, when her fellow Chapera tribe member, Rob Mariano
, asked the others to spare his girlfriend, Amber Brkich
, from elimination.
