Biography

Jennifer Coolidge was born on August 28, 1963 in Boston, Massachusetts. Best known as a comedy actress, she attended Norwell High School and Emerson College in Boston before taking on numerous supporting roles throughout different TV series and films.

Coolidge’s career began in 1993, when she landed a part on an episode of Seinfeld. Since then, she has built her resume with many other performances. She is, however, best known for her portrayal of “Stifler’s mom” on the American Pie movies. She later rose to fame as Hilary Duff’s stepmother in the teen flick A Cinderella Story, and as Paulette the manicurist in the Legally Blonde films. Another film credit of hers involves voicework. This was when she played Aunt Fanny in the animated feature Robots.

Most of Jennifer Coolidge’s roles are comical, especially those in the mockumentaries she was seen in. These include Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration, which was directed by Christopher Guest. In 2006, she appeared in the film Date Movie, playing a spoof of Barbra Streisand’s character in Meet the Fockers. In 2007, Coolidge landed a starring role in Epic Movie, as a character parodying the White Witch in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.

From 2004 to 2006, Coolidge was a regular part of the cast of the NBC Friends spin-off, titled Joey. She originally starred on the final season of Friends as Amanda, but on Joey, she played Bobbie Morganstern, the title character’s agent who is said to be the 12th most powerful woman in Hollywood. She amuses herself by forcing her office assistant to do funny tricks, or by occasionally shocking herself with a stun-gun. She tends to laugh at anyone’s expense, including Joey’s, and is a highly aggressive and brazen woman with an occasional tendency to be a ditz.

Coolidge was also a regular on the short-lived sketch comedy show She TV. Other credits include roles in According to Jim, Sex and the City, Frasier, and the 2006 Adam Sandler comedy, Click. She was also in Nip/Tuck, The Closer, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and films like Living Proof, Soul Men and the animated Igor.
