Jemima Kirke was born in London and raised in New York. Kirke currently lives in New York with her husband Michael Mosberg and their two children, a daughter named Rafaella and a son named Memphis. She attended Saint Ann's School in New York and later enrolled at Rhode Island School of Design, where she studied art and graduated as a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She first appeared in the 2010 film Tiny Furniture, which her friend Lena Dunham wrote and directed. Two years later, she joined the cast of HBO's Girls, which stars and is created by Dunham.
