Born on October 14, 1987 as Jared Farrow, comedian Jay Pharoah was raised in Chesapeake, Virginia. This impressionist got his start by performing stand-up comedy at the age of 15. He made his rounds in community theatres and comedy clubs found in his hometown, even touring with Charlie Murphy once in the past.
After practicing and perfecting his routines, he hit it big and was asked to join the cast of Saturday Night Live in 2010. He became a featured player for the show's 36th season. At 23 years old, he was noted as the youngest member upon his arrival. On his series debut in September, he greeted audiences as Will Smith for the Weekend Update segment.
On Saturday Night Live, some of the impersonations he became known for include Denzel Washington, Eddie Murphy, Kanye West, Nick Cannon, and Chris Tucker. Before, he also did impressions of Barack Obama and musicians Jay-Z and 50 Cent.
