Actor Jay Rowland Ferguson Jr. was born on July 25, 1974 in Dallas, Texas. He got his start in acting in 1990, making his debut in the 13-part Fox miniseries The Outsiders. He then starred in the comedy series Evening Shade, which featured Burt Reynolds as a former professional football player returning to coach in a small town. The series lasted until 1994.
After the end of the series, Ferguson’s career slowed down. Despite a few roles in films and television movies, he only returned to prominence in 2002, in the short-lived mystery series Glory Days. The series was widely panned, but he returned successfully with a recurring role in another television series, Judging Amy. He then appeared in another short-lived series, the science fiction drama Surface, in 2005. He also had a recurring role in the Showtime drama Sleeper Cell. In 2008, he took a role in the CW’s dramedy series Easy Money, which was unfortunately cancelled in the middle of the season due to low ratings.
