Jane Seymour appears as a contestant in the fifth season of the ABC network’s celebrity reality TV dance competition series Dancing with the Stars. She is an English actress who was born on February 15, 1951 in Hayes, London, as well as a recipient of the Order of the British Empire distinction. Her original name when she was born was Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg, and she assumed the stage name Jane Seymour when she was 17 years old. Her father was a Jewish obstetrician named John Frankenberg, and she also has Polish, German and Dutch heritage from her mother’s side.
She began acting in 1969 with an uncredited appearance in Richard Attenborough’s movie version of Oh! What a Lovely War. She also joined the ranks of the Bond girls for her role as Solitaire in the James Bond film Live and Let Die. Other movies Seymour has worked on are Wedding Crashers, Somewhere in Time, and Oh Heavenly Dog. She has also appeared on television series such as Law and Order: Special Victims Unit
, How I Met Your Mother
, and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. She has also won Golden Globe Awards and a Primetime Emmy Award for her television work.
