Biography

Jamey Johnson is featured as one of the members of the cast in the Fox network’s reality soap television series Nashville. He has been lauded as a successful and award-winning songwriter and singer, having worked on number one hits such as “Ladies Love Country Boys” and “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” together with Trace Adkins. In addition, he also penned a single for George Straight, titled “Give I Away.” The song likewise reached number one, and was awarded Song and Single of the Year during the 2006 Country Music Awards.

On the heels of his highly successful and red-hot songwriting career, Johnson has made the choice to focus on his own personal rise to musical performing stardom. He broke into the top 12 for his song “The Dollar,” featured on his debut album. Johnson’s musical techniques and style have been described as traditional country with a touch of strong Southern influences. He also takes after a number of notable industry legends such as Johnny Cash, Charlie Daniels, and Hank Williams, Jr. He is also a former member of the U.S. Marines, and presently lives in Nashville together with his three-year-old daughter named Kylee, and a pet Akita named Rocko.
