Jamal Anderson appears as one of the contestants in the MTV reality television competition series Celebrity Rap Superstar. His rapper mentor on the show is Redman . He is a former American football player who was born on September 30, 1972 in East Orange, New Jersey. He was a running back with the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League, and played for eight seasons with them. During his stint with the team, he achieved 5,336 rushing yards, 156 receptions for 1,645 yards, and 41 touchdowns. However, his career was struck a severe blow when his anterior cruciate ligament or ACL in his leg was torn in 2001, effectively ending his days as a competitive athlete.

One of his best seasons was in 1998, when he carried the ball for a single-season record of 410 times, for 1,846 yards and 14 touchdowns. Later on, he was just 162 yards away from NFL MVP and league leader Terrell Davis as the rushing champion of the era, and managed to rush 96 yards in the Super Bowl. After his days on the field ended, Anderson tried out skydiving, wine tasting, and sports broadcasting. He is well-known for his Dirty Bird touchdown victory celebration, wherein he flaps his arms like a chicken’s wings and swivels in the crowd’s direction.
