Jacob "Jake" Luke Long is the lead character in the animated series American Dragon: Jake Long. He is a 13-year old Chinese American boy who resides in New York City. He lives with his parents and his sister Haley. In addition, he is a descendant of a family of dragons. Known as “The American Dragon”, he has dragon powers which make him the first official magical guardian of the United States. He exudes a naïve and stubborn persona who appears to be flashy and cool in the presence of other people. Moreover, he shows careless and irresponsible behavior in many aspects of his life.
