Gretchen Rossi joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County as replacement for season 2 housewife Tammy Knickerbocker and season 3 cast member Quinn Fry. She took up psychology at Baylor University and then worked as a real estate agent, a job that would eventually lead her to meet the other housewives through Jeana Keough.
Rossi's love life has been somewhat of a controversial issue on The Real Housewives of Orange County. After her first marriage to Chris Rossi, she became engaged to Jeff Beitzel, who was 24 years her senior. Jeff died due to leukemia after the conclusion of the fourth season and by the fifth season, Rossi has moved on to Slade Smiley, who happens to be the ex-husband of housewife Jo de la Rosa.
