American actor Greg Andrew Germann was born on February 26, 1958 in Houston, Texas. He was raised on Lookout Mountain outside of Golden, Colorado by his father, a playwright, and his mother, a homemaker. He later enrolled at the University of Northern Colorado as a theater major, and found his early career marked by Broadway appearances. He was seen on plays like War Games, Assassins, and The Person I Once Was opposite Holly Hunter.
During the 1980s, Greg Germann appeared on Streetwalkin’, ABC Afterschool Specials, The Whoopee Boys, Miss Firecracker, and on an episode of Miami Vice. He got more roles during the 1990s, such as those in Tour of Duty, and H.E.L.P. Some of his film roles are those in Child’s Play 2, Big and Mean, Once Around, Rewrite for Murder, and Yesterday Today. After a role in L.A. Law, he was seen on The Night We Never Met and on So I Married an Axe Murderer. He continued his string of television appearances, taking on parts in Bakersfield P.D. and Assault at West Point: The Court-Martial of Johnson Whittaker. He later obtained roles in Clear and Present Danger, Imaginary Crimes and the series Sweet Justice, before he landed a part on the TV series Ellen as Rick. He next starred in the sitcom Ned and Stacey, and later rose to fame playing Richard Fish on the hit series Ally McBeal.
In 2000, Greg Germann was seen on The Last Producer and Sweet November, and the next year worked on the film Down to Earth and played Jeremy on Joe Somebody. When Ally McBeal ended in 2002, Germann was cast in episodes of The Twilight Zone, The Bernie Mac Show, and Listen Up. He then appeared in Special Ed, Heart of the Beholder, Bigger Than the Sky, and Crazylove. In 2006, he was seen on an episode of the hit series Desperate Housewives and on Eureka. Also that year, he landed a role in the film Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. He later starred in the short-lived ABC series, In Case of Emergency. His next appearances were in All I Want for Christmas and Quarantine in 2008. He also voiced a character on Bolt in 2009, and has since appeared on shows like Ghost Whisperer and the comedy Raising Hope.
