Gray Maynard Biography:

Gray "The Bully" Maynard is an accomplished wrestler from Lakewood, Ohio. He is a graduate of St. Edward High School, where he was a member of the national-championship wrestling program. Before his career in Mixed Martial Arts took off, Maynard got the opportunity to wrestle together with Rashad Evans, the current UFC light heavyweight, at Michigan State University. For his final season in 2003, the 157-pound Maynard placed seventh at the NCAA Wrestling Championships, consequently garnering him the position of MSU co-captain All-American honors for the third time. Maynard graduated with a total of 106 career wins and 26 falls, with the former earning him eleventh place and the latter seventh place at the all-time MSU ranking chart. After three years, he began to build his MMA career and from there, has gone on to train with several UFC fighters like Sam Stout. In April 2006, Maynard defeated Josh Powell at a Title Fighting Championships event, and in June of the same year, also defeated Brent Weedman at a World Extreme Fighting Event.

In 2007, he was cast in SpikeTV’s The Ultimate Fighter 5. Maynard currently trains with Team Couture.
