Born on March 17, 1975 in Smithers, British Columbia, Gina Holden is a Canadian actress who moved quite often as a child though she never let her passion for acting die out. With every move, she joined the nearest community-based organization which helped her cultivate that passion. She also trained in different types of dance, particularly classical ballet. When she was 15 years old, she was signed up as a model, and was brought to Japan, where she became popular as the face of Shiseido cosmetics—appearing in almost 20 magazine covers and different fashion spreads. She then returned to Canada, continued her studies, and eventually took acting lessons before launching her acting career.
Her first acting role was in 2002, through a role in the television adaptation to the mark Twain book Roughing It. After several other roles in television, she got a recurring role in the short-lived crime mystery Reunion, appearing in five episodes as suspected killer Rachel Scofield. The series failed to sustain the high ratings of its premiere and was abruptly cancelled after nine episodes. In 2005, she joined the cast of the drama series Da Vinci’s City Hall; it was cancelled after one season, despite moderate success. In 2007, she became a regular on the supernatural series Blood Ties, playing the role of Coreen Fennel, Vicky Nelson’s (Christine Cox) office assistant, who has an impeccable knowledge of the occult. The same year, she joined the cast of the science fiction series Flash Gordon, playing the female lead, news reporter Dale Arden.
Holden has also appeared in several films. Her debut was in the 2005 comic book adaptation Fantastic Four, where she had a minor role. Her other films include Final Destination 3, The Butterfly Effect 2, Aliens vs Predator: Requiem and Code Name: The Cleaner.
In 2009, Gina Holden was cast as Shea Allen on Harper’s Island, a CBS series about a group of family and friends who travel for a destination wedding to an island famous for a streak of unsolved murders
