Retired nurse Gillian Larson is one of the contestants of the reality series Survivor: Gabon. Born on February 24, 1947 in Johannesburg, South Africa, she met her husband in Germany and moved to the United States. She has worked as a nurse for 41 years before recently retiring. She is also very active: she’s backpacked through 46 countries and almost the entire United States, and has rappelled high mountains and swam great rivers. When she’s free, she spends her time writing, gardening and taking photographs.
Gillian is a long-time fan of Survivor, having auditioned 15 times and believing that she would be chosen one day. She thinks her competitive nature makes her a perfect fit for the show. She hopes to use her wide range of experiences to her advantage, but she’s in it for the adventure. When her stint in the show ends, she hopes to become a motivational speaker.
