Freema Agyeman is a British actress who is best known for playing Martha Jones, former companion of the Tenth Doctor in the BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who, and its spin-off series Torchwood. She graduated with BA Honours in Performing Arts and Drama from Middlesex University and took theatre courses at Radford University in Virginia. Agyeman is also noted for playing Alesha Phillips on Law and Order: UK, Shelly Periwinkle on Old Jack's Boat and Larissa Loughlin on The Carrie Diaries.
