At the judges home before the live shows
X Factor the then named LYLAS
performed "Impossible," proving anything possible and making it to the live shows.
It was during the first live show that we saw a name change from LYLAS to 1432. The group sang Taylor Swift's "We are Never Getting Back Together." The group had to be saved by the judges, singing
Demi Lovato's "Skyscraper." This is when
it was announced the fans would help changing the group's name one last time.
Fifth Harmony sang
"A Thousand Years" which was featured in
Breaking Dawn Part 1 in the Top 13. Results showed them in the middle of
voter's rankings at number 5.
During Diva week the group sang "Hero" by Mariah Carey. The following week they
thanked the Lord and performed "I'll Stand By You."
Ally's grandfather passed away the week before Fifth Harmony took the sage again to
perform "Stronger" by
Kelly Clarkson. The following week the group performed Adele's "Fire to the Rain"
without Ally. The following night they had to perform again for a
save performance. They sang "Anytime You Need a Friend" and stayed in the competition.
It was in the semifinals
after performing "Impossible" again that fans came out to vote, sending them to
The X Factor Season 2 finale.
Fifth Harmony performed three songs during the finale, "Anything Could Happen," "Give Your Heart a Break" and "Let it Be." The group placed third in the competition.
