Biography

Born Emmanuelle Sophie Anne Chriqui on December 10, 1977 in Quebec, Canada, Emmanuelle Chriqui is a film and television actress best known for her role on the hugely popular series Entourage on HBO, plus appearances in several shows.  The daughter of Moroccan Jewish immigrants, her mother was born in Casablanca while her father in Rabat, both in Morocco.  She was raised in Orthodox Judaism.  When she was almost two, her family moved to Toronto, Ontario and she ended up growing up in Unionville, Markham, a suburb northeast of the city.  Growing up, she took acting lessons paid for by her older brother.  She attended the drama program at Unionville High School. Since then, she has decided to pursue a full-time acting career.

Chriqui’s first foray into the entertainment industry was in a McDonald’s commercial as a 10-year-old.  She moved to Vancouver and found herself guest-starring in several television series, such as Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Forever Knight, Once and Thief, and Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal.  Her Hollywood debut came as a supporting character in the 1999 cult film Detroit Rock City.  She later appeared in 100 Girls, On the Line, In the Mix, Adam and Eve, and much later on, You don’t Mess with the Zohan, where she played as the love interest of Adam Sandler.  She, along with Lance Bass, was nominated for a Choice Liplock Teen Choice Award in On the Line.

Alongside her booming film career, Chriqui is still able to do television, appearing in the hit HBO series Entourage, where she played the character of Sloan McQuewick.  She also appeared in the show Unscripted, while doing several shows.  According to an interview, she is still applying for American citizenship.  She was named 37th in men’s magazine Maxim’s annual Hot 100 list in 2006.
