Emma Stone was born on November 6, 1988 in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was a member of the Valley Youth Theater in Phoenix, where she appeared in her first stage production, The Wind in the Willows, at age 11. She appeared in 16 productions, including The Princess and the Pea, The Wiz, Honk! and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, before moving to Los Angeles with her mother at age 15.
She launched her acting career after winning the role of Laurie Partridge in the 2004 VH1 reality competition In Search of the New Partridge Family. The result was a role in the sitcom The New Partridge Family, which unfortunately only produced a pilot. She then made guest appearances in shows such as Medium, Malcolm in the Middle and Lucky Louie, and provided the voice of Ivana the Dog in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, before landing a major role in the drama series Drive. Here she plays the role of Violet Trimble, the daughter of John Trimble (Dylan Baker) who was taken out of school to join him in a race across the country, but later becomes enthusiastic about her participation upon learning the truth. The program was cancelled after four episodes.
In 2007, Stone made her film debut in the comedy film Superbad. She plays Jules, the love interest of Seth (Jonah Hill), who hosts the party that leads the main characters to impress their crushes by buying them alcohol. She is slated to appear on several movies: The Rocker, alongside Rainn Wilson, where she plays the bassist to a band that Wilson’s character sets up; The House Bunny, alongside Anna Faris, where she plays as the president of the sorority where Faris’ character lands; and The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, alongside Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner.
