Emily Brandle hails from Sacramento, California, and believes that fashion will not be able to survive without great jeans. She attended the Otis College of Art and Design, where she was exposed to the business aspect of fashion. After working hard to master the skills of trade shows, wholesale buying and press, she aspired to reach her goal of designing her own collection in Project Runway.
Emily’s biggest inspiration is her friends and family. Her muse has brought her to work with XoXo, DKNY, La Blanca, Jeremy Scott and Rozae Nichols. She is also the press and sales manager for Hysteric Glamour. In two years, Emily traveled to and from Japan to gain enough experience as a designer. In 2006, she launched “Smoke and Mirrors,” a design team with her friend, Michelle Chaplin. It became a successful LA brand, further gaining more exposure, as well as a growing fan base.
She became known for being a contestant on Project Runway season 5. She was however eliminated on the third episode, but has since continued her work in the fashion industry with Smoke and Mirrors.
