American actor Eddie Matos was born on July 18, 1972 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He lived in the United States for most of his life, and after graduating from North Hunderton High School in New Jersey in 1990, he lived in Miami before moving to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.
Matos is known for his many roles in daytime television. Although he began acting in 1999, as a guest on an episode of Clueless, he has played roles in The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital, both in 2001. He is more known, however, for originating the role of Ricky Garza in another daytime soap, Port Charles. He joined the show in 2001 and stayed until its cancellation in 2003. He also had a recurring role in the short-lived teen drama series All About Us.
Matos is nevertheless no stranger to prime time roles. He was a guest star on Tru Calling, Charmed, In Justice, Women in Law and Pepper Dennis. In 2007, he earned his first regular prime time role, joining the cast of the drama series Cane. He played the role of Henry Duque, the youngest son of Pancho (Hector Elizondo) and Amalia (Rita Moreno). It was cancelled after one season, partly because of the writers’ strike later in 2007.
