Andrew "Drew" John Lachey was born on August 8, 1976 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He began his career in the entertainment industry as a member of the pop group 98 Degrees, with his brother Nick Lachey and two other band members, Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons. With 98 Degrees, he released three albums which was a hit and has sold over 10 million records collectively. However, before his stint in the music industry, Lachey worked as a combat medic in the United States Army.
In 2000, Lachey married Lea Dellecave, his childhood friend and high school sweetheart. She was also the choreographer and dancer for 98 Degrees. Six years later, the couple welcomed their firstborn, a daughter named Isabella Claire.
Following his work as a pop star, Lachey made a guest appearance on Hollywood Squares in 2001 and performed on Broadway as Mark Cohen in the musical Rent from January 3 to March 21, 2005. He also appeared as guest on his brother's MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.
Lachey became part of
Dancing with the Stars ' second season, wherein he was partnered with professional dancer
Cheryl Burke . During the competition's sixth week, the pair earned a perfect score of 30 for their tango. They later earned a perfect 30 for both their Paso Doble and freestyle. Finally, on February 26, 2006, Lachey and Burke were named the champions of season 2 of
Dancing with the Stars .
In 2006, Lachey co-hosted the Miss USA pageant with Access Hollywood star Nancy O'Dell. From late 2006 to early 2007, Lachey joined the
Dancing with the Stars tour which flew all around the country and later headed to Canada. His work on the reality series did not end there as he co-hosted the first three weeks of the fifth season of the show, temporarily replacing Samantha Harris during her maternity leave.
In 2008, Lachey is set to work as a host on Dance War: Bruno VS. Carrie Ann, a spin off of
Dancing with the Stars .
