Dory is a regal tang in the 2003 animated film Finding Nemo. She collides with the clownfish Marlin while he is looking for his son, Nemo. She ends up accompanying him on his search, on the way befriending him. Dory suffers from short-term memory loss, providing much of the film’s comic relief. She is an optimistic fish, which sometimes puts her and Marlin in danger. She’s also very sociable, even to sharks and the predators of the sea. Dory has a sunny disposition even though she’s underwater, and has remained a loyal friend to Marlin and Nemo. Dory is also credited for the catchy tune “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming!” in the film.
Dory is voiced by actress and stand-up comedian Ellen DeGeneres.
