Biography

American actor Devon Werkheiser is on his way to reaching high levels of celebrity in television and film. The teenage head-turner was born on March 8, 1991 in Atlanta, Georgia and was educated at a school in Duluth. Upon seeing Devon do a Jim Carrey impersonation when he was just six years old, it became clear to his parents that acting was their son’s gift. Although, Devon also enjoys playing ice hockey and the guitar, acting is the driving force in his young life. As a child, Devon took acting lessons at the Talent Factory in Atlanta, where he first experienced acting in plays such as The Emperor’s New Clothes and Halloween at Boo Castle. After four years in training, he landed a part alongside Charles Barkley on a commercial for the NBA.

When he was only ten years old, Devon Werkheiser appeared as Mel Gibson’s son on the film We Were Soldiers. After working with the famous actor-director, Werkheiser and his mother decided to move to Hollywood. The next year, Werkheiser was seen with John Larroquette and Lesley Ann Warren on the independent film, Recipe for Disaster. He has also appeared on one episode of the series That Was Then, but rose to fame later on. Werkheiser was catapulted to fame when he was cast as Ned Bigby on the Nickelodeon teen sitcom Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide. This enabled him to achieve even bigger roles, as he landed the lead part on another Nickelodeon production. He portrayed the character Nolan Byrd on the TV film Shredderman Rules in 2007. He next voiced the role of Casper in Cartoon Network’s animated film Casper’s Scare School. This was all followed by a role in the Lifetime movie Christmas in Paradise, also in 2007. While being active in this field of the arts, Devon Werkheiser has also ventured into music. He has already worked with the Universal Music Group for his debut album, in which he sings and plays the guitar. He is also known for participating in several charities, notably the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation to aid seriously ill children.
