Biography

American actor Dayton Callie has had an extensive career on both film and television. He began appearing on the screens in 1984, when he landed the small role of a breakdancer in Preppies. This was followed by performances on A Mother’s Request, Kate & Allie, Valerie, and Adam 12.

During the 1990s, he began his slow rise to fame. Getting a variety of supporting roles on television, he was seen on Falcon Crest, Growing Pains, DEA, Law & Order, Murphy Brown and The Nanny. He later got roles in TV productions of The Investigator, Ed McBain’s 87th Precinct: Lightning, Tyson and Body Language. Dayton Callie was next seen as Encee on The Last Word, before he played Vic in 1996’s The Last Days of Frankie the Fly. The next year, he was seen on the series Ellen, The Tony Danza Show, Profiler and Michael Hayes. He was also on the Seinfeld episode “The Puerto Rican Day.” Later on, he was cast in Buddy Faro, Vengeance Unlimited, NYPD Blue and It’s Like, You Know.

He began the year 2000 with a performance on Becker and The Practice. After roles in Roswell and Touched by an Angel, Callie was seen on Port Charles. His other appearances were in Dragnet, CSI: Miami, and Judging Amy. In 2004, he rose to fame playing Charlie Utter in the hit HBO television series Deadwood. He also booked parts in Ash Tuesday and Break a Leg, before making an appearance on The Closer and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In 2007, he became known for portraying Steady Freddie Lopez in the HBO drama John from Cincinnati. The character is a drug dealer from Hawaii with ties to the Yost family, particularly Butchie.

Dayton Callie’s next projects became K-Ville and the portrayal of Chief Wayne Unser on the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. In 2008, he got a role in New Orleans, Mon Amour.
