Born on March 31, 1976 in Albertson, New York, Danny Masterson is an actor best known for his role as Steven Hyde on the long-running comedy series That 70s Show. He is also an outspoken member of the Church of Scientology. The son of an insurance agent and his future manager, Masterson’s young brother Christopher was on the comedy Malcolm in the Middle. His other siblings are also in show business. He was engaged to model-actress Chrissie Carnell for whom he called “the love of his life.” The two broke up in 2003, after which Masterson began dating fellow scientologist Bijou Philips.
Masterson’s break-out role was as Justin in Cybill. He also played as Jimmy Girvin in Roseanne, and made appearances on Punk’d and MADtv. He is good friends with That 70s Show co-star and Punk’d creator and star Ashton Kutcher. Meanwhile, he co-owns a restaurant he established with Kutcher and another That 70s Show co-star Wilmer Valderrama called Dolce. He DJs at the Los Angeles night club circuit under his name DJ MomJeans. He played for a two-hour set at the 2008 Lollapalooza festival in Chicago. He also co-hosts a Monday night radio show titled Feel My Heat on a Los Angeles radio station. He also invested in Card Player Magazine, along with his brother and another That 70s Show co-star Laura Prepon.
According to Masterson, "I have been acting since age 4. I have always been working and I have always been in Scientology my entire life. Each service in Scientology is something I have added to my toolbox of data for living."
Masterson’s other television credits include Jake and the Fatman, NYPD Blue, Party of Five, American Gothic, Grounded for Life, How to Make a Monster, Entourage, and Robot Chicken. Meanwhile, in movies, he was seen in Dracula 2000, The Faculty, How to Make a Monster, Puff, Puff, Pass, Smiley Face, The Bridge to Nowhere, and Capers.
