Biography

Dann Florek is an actor who has been active in the small screen since the early 80s. After appearing on shows like Hill Street Blues, Mr. President, Hunter and Matlock, he was cast on L.A. Law as Dave Meyer, a role that he played from 1988 to 1993. This eventually paved the way for Florek's casting in yet another NBC series, Law & Order, where he played Capt. Don Cragen and even directed a few episodes. After 69 episodes, he left the show in 1994 only to reprise his infamous role again in the spin-off Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 1999. He has since been playing the unit captain in a supporting role capacity.

Florek, who studied at Eastern Michigan University, is also noted for his role on Hardball as Ernest "Happy" Talbot, and Smart Guy as Coach Gerber. On the big screen, he appeared in Santorini Blue, Beautiful Joe, Little Girl Fly Away and The Flintstones just to name a few.
