Biography

Born on September 14, 1967 in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Dan Cortese is an actor best known for hosting MTV Sports from 1992 to 1997 and starring roles in Melrose Place, Seinfeld, and Veronica’s Closet. The walk-on member of the University of North Caroline football team traveled with the guys to the Aloha Bowl, eventually gradating with a degree in broadcasting from the university at Chapel Hill. In 1992, Cortese first achieved popularity as host of MTV Sports from 1992 to 1997. His other screen credits include the main role in the 1996 movie The Lottery, Route 66, Traps, Melrose Place, The Single Guy, Veronica’s Closet, and Rock Me Baby. He was also featured in the WB television series What I Liked About You and in several episodes of 8 Simple Rules. He hosted My Dad is Better than Your Dad prior to its cancellation on NBC.
