Thirty-four year old Dale is a self-taught chef/consultant from Chicago, Illinois. He has been a chef for six years and has created what he calls, “flavor math.” According to his formula, the right number of spices can bring the perfect taste and flavor. Dale’s cooking style is a mixture of French and American influences and plans are underway for the opening of his own restaurant.
Dale became known as one of fifteen aspiring chefs on the reality cooking challenge show, Top Chef. He was chosen as the runner-up on the finale of season 3, enabling him to return for the All-Star edition of the show in season 8.
After his stint on the show, he underwent a couple of tragedies. His mother passed away due to cancer and his plans of opening his own restaurant, Town & Country, were scrapped due to financial problems. He eventually fount his footing by returning to Sprout and creating new dishes to titillate customers. Since then, he returned to television and competed on the 8th season of Top Chef. He was unfortunately eliminated on the third episode of the show.
"I fell in love with the rush of the kitchen - the rhythm of the process, getting the food out and, of course, the fun."
