Fashion designer Cynthia Rowley was born in Barrington, Illinois and was educated at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She launched her own line in 1981, held a fashion show in her apartment, and has since become a big name in women's wear. She later incorporated menswear in 1997, in addition to another women's line called Rowley by Cinthia Rowley. She was honored by the Council of Fashion Designers of America and even received the privilege of redesigning uniforms for United Airlines.
Cynthia Rowley is also known for her appearances on numerous television shows. She was on America's Next Top Model and Project Runway, as well as a judge on Design Star. She has written several books, such as Slim: A Fantasy Memoir.
