Curtis Bray of Los Angeles, California is a 35-year-old husband and father who has three beautiful daughters. He wishes to see them grow up, and is scared of following the footsteps of his father, who died of heart failure at the age of 52. Despite having been exposed to a rough neighborhood while growing up, his parents was able to keep him in school and out of trouble. In fact, he was Student Body President in high school and was an active football varsity player during his sophomore year. A pudgy kid, he was often hurt by fat jokes and name calling. Because of this, he became competitive and used this trait to become successful. In fact, he recently decided to change his life and lose weight. His New Year’s resolution would be to qualify for health insurance.
Married to his high school sweetheart Mallory
, Curtis is the more sensitive of the couple, while Mallory stands as the rock of the relationship. Nonetheless, they realize that they do have to make a change not only for themselves, but for their children. Curtis and Mallory team up as the Brown Team on NBC's The Biggest Loser 5, where Curtis weighed in at 381 lbs., and Mallory weighed in at 217 lbs.
