Olympic gold medalist Crystal Cox is one of the contestants of the reality series Survivor: Gabon. Born on March 28, 1979, she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in communication. She earned her gold medal in the 2004 games in Athens, winning in the 4 x 400 track relay. Currently, she works as a childcare teacher and high school coach, while single-handedly raising her daughter in their home in Durham, North Carolina.
Crystal hopes to use her experience and her abilities to her advantage in Survivor. As a child, her family moved often, and she learned to adapt and be physically and mentally tough. Obviously she is very fit—she also plays volleyball, kickball and softball in her free time—and she is also outspoken and open-minded. She thinks she has the “three Bs” that will make her Sole Survivor: beauty, brains, and blazing speed.
