Actor and choreographer Cris Judd
was born August 15, 1969 in Abilene, Texas. He spent much of his childhood days in the Philippines and in Hawaii. When he was a teenager, the family moved to Niceville, Florida, where he attended high school and spent most of his free time playing golf or surfing. He studied at the Okaloosa-Walton Community College. At the age of 21, Cris Judd took an interest in dancing and worked as a performer at Disney World.
Cris Judd's excellent dancing skills led him to perform onstage with the king of pop Michael Jackson on both the Dangerous and History tours. He was also hired to dance with MJ in the 1995 MTV Video Music Awards. He performed with celebrities Celine Dion, Enrique Iglesias and Brian McKnight. He also choreographed Jordan Knight's 2000 tour and coached Nicole Kidman and Lou Diamond Philips in dance. Among the many music videos he worked on are Usher's “My Way” and Julio Iglesias' “Tango.”
He met Jennifer Lopez when he directed the music video of “Love Don't Cost a Thing.” The two married in September 2001 but ended their relationship in June 2002. Cris also composed “Alive,” the theme song for the psychological thriller Enough.
He appeared on shows Everybody Loves Raymond
, Eve, Bringing Down the House and Half & Half. He also hosted Dirty Dancing and Dance Like We Do.
In 2005, he won the Excellence in Entertainment Award at the 17th Annual Reflections Award.
Cris was featured in magazines Playboy and Teen People. People Magazine named him as one of its 25 Hottest Bachelors while InTouch Magazine listed him down as one of its Hottest Hunks.
Cris Judd is one of the three judges on the Lifetime TV reality series Your Mama Don't Dance
. Dubbed as the dance competition with a twist, contestants on the show auditioned without knowing that their dancing partners would be their very own parents. Five male contestants and five female contestants would foxtrot and mambo with their mothers and fathers as they compete to win the title and the $100,000 cash prize.
