Born on December 1958 in Ohatchee, Alabama, Coach Rush Propst is known for running one of the toughest programs in the country and has led the Hoover Buccaneers to innumerable victories. He has also witnessed the signing of scholarships for over 40 plays since he took the job eight years ago. An outspoken and often controversial perfectionist, his opinion has made all the difference in the past. At the end of the 2008 season, his 20-year head coaching record stands at 187–61 (.754 win rate). He resigned his post during a special meeting of the Hoover Board of Education on October 30, 2007, where he also admitted to an extramarital affair.
