Actress Clea Helen D’Etienne DuVall was born on September 25, 1977 in Los Angeles, California. An only child, she dropped out of high school and lived independently after her parents divorced, when she was twelve years old. She eventually returned to high school after deciding she wanted to become an actress; she entered the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. During the time, she was active in theater, and scored an agent shortly after graduation.
She made her acting debut in the 1996 movie Little Witches, after which saw her take roles in television movies and series. After breaking out in the Sundance Film Festival entry How to Make the Cruelest Month, as well as in Robert Rodriguez’s 1998 release The Faculty, DuVall began taking roles in other, more high-profile films, such as She’s All That, The Astronaut’s Wife and Girl, Interrupted.
After appearing in films such as The Laramie Project and 21 Grams, she appeared in the HBO series Carnivàle, appearing as one-half of fortune-telling pair Sofie and Apollonia. In 2006, she began playing the recurring role of FBI agent Audrey Hanson on the hit series Heroes. She also appeared as a guest on Grey’s Anatomy, Lie to Me and CSI. She last starred in the Fox television special Virtuality.
